noxagt: supersonic (part two)
noxagt are norwegian. this much i know for sure. they have drums, thunderously precise drums. they have a bass, brutally downtuned to mess with yr inner ear. they used to have a screeching viola (which some of the time was unrecognisable anyway), now they have splintered jaggy guitar. they are signed to load records. they bludgeon. imperiously. bombastically.
lazy comparisons: melvins, lightning bolt, shellac, oxes, don caballero. the usual.
their second last record iron point, is pretty damn good. things changed slightly with the no-viola / new guitar thang. their most recent selftitled, ladies ass displaying record is equally good and like my favourite kind of women is short, sharp, kinetic and lurching with mathematical intent. no i don’t really understand the last bit either.
i hate it when i can’t think of better quotes than the label:
“past titles have picked up fans in many of the musik camps of the 21st century world village including: jean jacketed metal hordes, ripped sweater wearing art fucks, and regular bricklayers like you.”
they’re dynamic. they rock. they kick up a big bloody racket.
like god shaking a steel cage full of instruments.
